Education officials gather in Ébolowa for an ENA-PARI project workshop

From Thursday June 22 to Friday June 23, 2023, in Ebolowa, a workshop was held to analyze a strategy for scaling up the digital learning environment (DLE) to strengthen the skills of basic education teachers in Cameroon. The workshop was attended by officials from the Ministry of Basic Education in the southern region, including representatives of the Regional Delegate and the Departmental Delegate, directors of ENIEGs and elementary school, educational inspectors, teachers, journalists and representatives of civil society.

Supervised by Professor Vandelin Mgbwa, Country Coordinator (C.P.) of the project, and Professor Maxime Manifi, Project Manager, the work of this workshop consisted in:1) corroborating/amending the proposed reference framework on the quality of continuing education in ENA, and 2) identify risks and propose mitigation measures to improve the professional development of community teachers in the digital age, in order to solicit the active involvement of stakeholders (pedagogical supervisors, teachers, leaders of civil society organizations, and community radio managers).

At the end of the proceedings, which took place in an atmosphere of courtesy and conviviality, the representative of the Délégué régional de l’Education de base (DREB) for the southern region affirmed the DREB’s commitment to taking over the implementation of ENA in this region. To this end, he will call on the various links in the educational chain to carry ENA’s message loud and clear.
